The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box tells the story of Mariah Mundi, who is a boy apparently, and whose borther is kidnapped from the streets of London. In his quest for answers he comes across and adventurer and sets off on an… adventure.
I never really thought about it, but I suppose adventurers DO have adventures!
Just kidding. They don’t.
So anyways, Mariah’s brother is Felix, and they’re poor kids on the streets of Victorian London. After meeting Captain Charity he begins working undercover at a hotel, which is filled with villains of all sorts, and he has to help Charity, who is in turn helping him, find his brother and figure out what happened to his parents. And there’s a Midas Box, which is likely pretty dangerous and shouldn’t fall into the wrong hands, etc.
The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box
The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box comes from directory Jonathan Newman, who has made a couple films over the years, such as Foster and Mustang Drift, but I’ve never heard of those, so this is sorta his biggest break to date.
The film is based on the novel by G.P. Taylor, and it’s no doubt highly beloved by kiddies everywhere, and will set your kid’s world on fire when he sees it on the big screen.
I’m assuming you have a male child. Apparently.

What’s Good About It?
The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box looks like it has some old school charm, while still maintaining a newer appeal. It’s very Harry Potter without being too slick.
What’s Bad About It?
Though I think it looks charming, I think The Adventurer might be a little too old school and too British for many audiences.
Our Clever Prediction
The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box will be out in theaters and on demand the same day. That does not bode well for the film, and I’m not really sold on the lead to carry the film. Michael Sheen is good though. He used to be married to Kate Beckinsale. Huh.
