Paranoia is a corporate espionage thriller about a young up and comer who is forced to spy on the competition. He gets the life he wants, but at what price?
Here’s the official synopsis for Paranoia:
In this high-stakes thriller, Adam Cassidy (Hemsworth) is an ambitious junior technologist trying to climb the ranks of telecom giant Wyatt Corporation. But after one costly mistake, Adam is blackmailed by ruthless CEO Nicholas Wyatt (Oldman) to turn corporate spy by going to work for the firm’s top competitor, which is run by Wyatt’s old mentor, Jock Goddard (Ford). Adam soon finds himself delivered into prepackaged success, living his fantasy life of old-world boardrooms, private clubs, exotic cars, and all the spoils of Manhattan bachelorhood. However, behind the scenes, he is merely a pawn in Wyatt’s power play, and must search for a way out from under his boss, who will stop at nothing, even murder, to gain a multi-billion dollar advantage.
I don’t know much about multi-billion dollar industries, as I don’t roll out of bed in the morning for less than a trillion, but I assume there are a lot of people willing to do anything, including even murderous stuff, to get ahead when the stakes are that high. To get to my current financial level I had to sleep with half of Canada. I didn’t produce much moisture, which is why they refer to me as “Canada Dry.”

Paranoia is a starmaking vehicle for Liam Hemsworth, Thor‘s real life brother and Gale from The Hunger Games. Robert Luketic is directing, and while his past work of 21 was okay, his followups were both Katherine Heigl romantic comedies, so he’s a turd faced moron.

What’s Good About It?
I like Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford has still got it, Amber Heard is hotter than a herd of Buffalo (which are notoriously HOT), and Liam Hemsworth is like Thor Jr. That’s a lot of good stuff for a single film.
What’s Bad About It?
Hemsworth might not be the actor his brother is, and his brother isn’t all that and a bag of chips. He’s just a giant dude who looks exactly like Thor. Cabin in the Woods was good though…
Our Clever Prediction
I can’t give a great prediction just yet, but I think Paranoia looks halfway decent at present. They got Harrison Ford to shave his head, and any movie with Gary Oldman has to be at least watchable. I’d watch that man read the phone book from Azkerban prison while kicking the Joker in the balls.
