Inside Llewyn Davis is loosely based on the life of Dave Van Ronk, a friend of Bob Dylan’s in the 1960′s Greenwich Village folk music scene. This talented young musician navigates the scene and struggles to make ends meet.

Not a ton of details on Inside Llewyn Davis right now, but it appears he’ll be somewhat an amalgamation of a few singers. I don’t think the film will have exact copies of any singers, though I’d bet there’ll be someone similar to Dylan and other famous singers from the time.

What’s Good About It?

If the Cohen Brothers are directing, you can be sure that the film will have great writing, direction, and outstanding performances. Obviously, some of their films are better than others, but these guys are hard workers, and Inside Llewyn Davis looks really promising.

Until there’s a trailer I won’t be able to predict the Oscar worthiness of Inside Llewyn Davis, but as it’s a Cohen Brothers film with great actors like Carey Mulligan and John Goodman in it, I have no doubt I’ll greatly enjoy it. And so will you!
