The Dead Space Movie is a film adaptation of the popular video game series about horrific creatures infesting a space ship. An engineer named Isaac Clarke boards the ship and uses futuristic engineering tools to dismember the creatures as he tries to discover the reason behind the infestation.
Director D.J. Caruso (Eagle Eye, Disturbia) is attached to the film, so a solid director with ties to Steven Spielberg is on board. Caruso has shown the talent to direct big action films with science fiction elements, so there may yet be hope for a decent film.

One of the main selling points of the game was that you had to dismember the creatures. Expect a hard ‘R’

Production hasn’t begun yet, so late 2013 at the earliest.
Who’s In It?
No casting yet, but with Caruso directing, Shia LaBeouf may end up playing Isaac Clarke. Crap.
What’s Good About It?
The game was cool and scary as hell. If the film keeps the same visual style, it could become the next Alien.
What’s Bad About It?
Anytime you have a video game adaptation, the odds are it’ll suck.
Our Clever Prediction
Horror is a genre where you can get away with a lower quality script. Dead Space would need a solid director to pull off the Sci-Fi elements. It’s no coincidence that Ridley Scott directed Alien. Keep your fingers crossed. Dead Space has potential like crazy.

Dead Space movie sounds amazing. BUT,
Shia LeBouf!-Great actor but will never fit Isaacs role.
What ever you do, do not ever never ever ruin Issac Clarke’s image and role.
Ok this is a REALLY good idea for a movie but FML if Shia LeBouf plays isaac clark this game is about running through an environment that is strewn with necromorphs and REALLY fucked up shit. Not fucking crying in the fucking corner about how hard life is or about how you try and act soooo cool when you fail. Seriously place some one else as Isaac Clark, Shia LeBouf will make this movie fucking tank if he plays it.
