Dead Man Down (2013)

Dead Man Down is a crime thriller about a woman who was brutally attacked and scarred blackmailing a hitman into helping her seek revenge.

I’m not 100% sure what happened to the woman. She has scars on her face and it happened because of a pretty bad dude, who is something of a mob boss. This woman lives in an apartment building and she witnesses a murder by a hitman. She films it with her phone, and uses this video to blackmail the killer into helping her with revenge.

I think they also have sex. Cause the hitman is Colin Farrell and he pretty much can’t help it. If he saw a large apple cut in half he’d probably fuck it.

Dead Man Down

Dead Man Down comes from Niels Arden Oplev, the Danish filmmaker behind the original film version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which starred Dead Man Down’s lead actress Noomi Rapace as well. The film was written by J.H. Wyman, who wrote The Mexican and a film called Exhuming Mr. Rice, or it might have been called Mr. Rice’s Secret.

Either way, it starred David Bowie and he looked like this on the poster:

What’s Bad About It?

I think this is Oplev’s first English language film. Hmm…

Our Clever Prediction

I think Dead Man Down will prove to be a very good film, with some degree of success, though the box office will likely not break any records. I think this will just be a good film overall, and I’m looking forward to it! I like noir. This should be fun.
