2 Guns is crime action thriller about a DEA agent and a Naval Intelligence Officer who are investigating each other and tasked with stealing money from the mob.

The twist is that these two good guys, who think they’re helping the government, have actually been tricked by the mob into stealing $50 Million from the CIA. Now they have to figure out if they can trust one another and how to get the money back and take down the mob.

Easy. Call Batman.

Baltasar Kormakur, who directed the Mark Wahlberg action flick Contraband, is at the helm for 2 Guns. The film is based on the comics by Steven Grant, and the screenplay is by Blake Masters, who wrote a bunch of episodes of Law and Order, Rubicon and Brotherhood.

Who’s In It?

Paula Patton is the only confirmed player in the film, though Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg are both said to be interested.

What’s Good About It?

I haven’t read the comics, but the story sounds good.

What’s Bad About It?

The director made Contraband, and he wants Mark Wahlberg back. If Denzel gets involved, then I’ll see it, otherwise, go f yourself, 2 Guns.

Our Clever Prediction

I don’t see 2 Guns being the greatest film ever, though I do think there’s a good chance Denzel Washington will be in it, and he always takes films to another level. Safe House was a paint by numbers film, yet Denzel’s performance made it an enjoyable experience. I’m hopeful for sure, but until the cast is set I won’t hold my breath.
