The Revenant (2012)

The Revenant follows an adventurous man in the employ of some rich fella who leaves him in the wild after being mauled by a bear. But he recovers, and seeks his revenge.

So a fur trapper is hired to lead a dangerous expedition. His name is Hugh Glass, which I bet is what the kids all called his mom (huge lass, get it?), and while out hunting for his group is is attacked by a bear. Unfortunately, though he survives, the terrain is too rough to carry him back, so his employer hires two men to stand watch until he dies. They rob him instead and leave him to die. But he’s a tough S.O.B., and he comes looking for a little revenge.

Sounds… awesome!

The Revenant

Alejandro González Iñárritu is directing The Revenant. He has directed some solid films, like 21 Grams and Babel, so he’s not half bad, and he’s seeking some grade A talent like Christian Bale, Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio for the film, so it might turn out pretty good.

The Revenant Release Date

Nopesy.

Who’s In It?

No official casting yet, but Christian Bale, Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio are up for roles, with DiCaprio most likely playing Hugh Glass.

What’s Good About It?

Cool story idea, good director, good actors. The Revenant could really shine.

What’s Bad About It?

Too little to say anything bad just yet.

Although there IS a bear attack, so maybe it takes place in Canada, in which case I boycott.

Our Clever Prediction

Unless there’s a Canadian-based boycott, I think The Revenant should do really well. Keep your fingers crossed. But don’t cross your toes. That doesn’t do anything and it hurts.
