The Campaign is a new comedy starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as rivals running against one another in a Congressional election.
Ferrell plays the more charismatic of the two candidates, Cam Brady. Brady is the incumbent, and pretty much expects him to win, including himself, as there is no one opposing him.
Unfortunately for him, some really wealthy CEOs don’t like some snafu he makes, and they decide to run a candidate against him, and they chose Marty Huggins, played by Zach Galifianakis. Huggins is a moron, but a naïve moron with a big heart who seems to genuinely want to help people. Election day approaches and the two do all sorts of wacky hijinks to get elected.
Expect hard hitting social commentary. And based on the trailer, nut jokes.
The Campaign
The Campaign is being directed by Jay Roach, who made Austin Powers, Meet the Parents, Dinner for Schmucks and a ton of other films. Writers Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell wrote the screenplay, and they both worked on Eastbound & Down, though Henchy has a ton more experience writing and producing. Still, there is a lot of success amongst the filmmakers here.

What’s Good About It?
The trailer for The Campaign looks really good, and the credentials of essentially everyone involved is quite simply stellar.
What’s Bad About It?
While I will laugh at Will Ferrell on occasion, he specializes in a particular type of humor that can be best described as fucking retarded.
Our Clever Prediction
I expect The Campaign to be a pretty successful film. It comes out after the bulk of the summer blockbusters, has a great cast, and it just looks funny. Maybe not a home run, but it’ll make some moolah.
Sorry, that’s cow for money. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
