The Avengers (2012)

The Avengers Movie, coming in 2012, is setting out to be the biggest, most expensive superhero movie ever made. Details are rolling out as shooting is about to being in early 2011.

The Avengers

The plot is a little thin right now, but the upcoming Avengers Movie is showcasing all the superheros in one movie. Not all the superhero’s are in the movie all at once, some are just cameo appearances such as Hulk. However, Iron Man should have a main role in the movie, as Iron Man 3 is a sequel to The Avengers.

Still, you can count on seeing lots of Captain America (ugh, that blows) , Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor and War Machine. Nick Fury will have a main role in the film as well, but he is getting his own movie later in 2012, so they won’t give him too much screen time.

Rumor has it the story is based around the Avengers fighting some alien race called ‘The Skrulls’ although this isn’t 100% confirmed yet. Here’s more info on The Skrulls from Marvel :

The Skrulls are an extraterrestrial humanoid race who have created a vast interstellar empire, the oldest known empire still in existence, within the Andromeda Galaxy.. A Skrull can mentally cause the unstable molecules that comprise his or her body to become pliant, enabling him or her to assume other forms through muscular expansion and contraction.

What’s Good About It?

A collection of superheros this big should be wonderful, right? I mean, how much more do you want in a movie?

What’s Bad About It?

What if The Avengers is so poorly written, like Spider-Man 3? Seriously, what if they make it like the last Spider-Man movie, and its a love story?

Our Clever Prediction

I’m not judging it yet, but The Avengers will probably be huge, but does that mean it will be good?

the Skrull storyline is a good choice as it can set up the fall of Tony Stark from grace, like in the comics…at least I hope it does.

I agree with joe on this. As long as the director doesn’t mess it up it should be amazing. But one question does anyone know why they left out “Hank” or ant man, and wasp. They were part of the originals. Was just a thought

No offense but youre wrong on some of this. Ironman will have a huge role considering the comic releif and some seriousness in this movie will be the friction between him and Captain A. War Machine is questionable as to how big his role would be. It was awesome in Iron Man 2 but in a movie with heroes all with a different power or skill it would be dumb to have two heroes with the same powers or tech in this case. You are waaaaayyyy wrong on the hulk thing. He is one of marvels most beloved characters and i do my research. He is going to have a HUGE role. He will probly be somewhat of an antagonist similar to how he was in the animated avengers movie. They will try to stop him at first but by the end of the movie they will need his help. And Nick fury does not have a movie coming out. Hes cool as a backup character but he is not spotlight material. And how is alot of Captain america blow?? Hes THE Avenger. His movie has been one of the most hoped for and anticipated hero movies for years. As soon as spiderman sky rocketed marvel films everyone has been asking when will we see Cap?. Anyway this movie should be the most epic film. I only hope the director knows what hes doing. These are all such deep and interesting characters. Even though they have their own films they still need ALOT of lines and screen time and cant just have small action scenes like xmen

With Joss Wedon directing it and putting his mark on the script. We don’t need to worry about it sucking. Mostly with him you have to worry about it being ahead of its time, i.e. Firefly, Dollhouse.
