This movie preview brings you the latest on Rock of Ages, which brings the thunder to filmed musicals. When I say ‘brings the thunder,’ I don’t really know what I mean. I’ve been saying it a lot lately. The film follows a couple who fall in love at a Sunset Strip rock club but are torn apart by their rock n’ roll lifestyle. As a child of the 80′s, I can totally relate to this plot. I was a head banger, I loved Judas Priest, Dokken, Warrant , Iron Maiden… and my girl she was a fan of Vixen, Poison and Winger. Our love never had a chance, not even a chance.
…and rock out!
I grew up during the age of Nirvana, which proved that all that crap in the 80′s was terrible. Pffh. Wanted: Dead or Alive? More like Wanted: Dead.
That sounded better in my head.
Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages is based on a book and adapted play by Chris D’Arienzo. The music of the film is taken from popular 80′s music, with bands such as Journey, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, and REO Speedwagon. Man, I can NOT wait to get the soundtrack.

Who’s In It?
Rock of Ages has a ton of star power, including Tom Cruise, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alec Baldwin, Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway, Mary J. Blige and Justice Charlier Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin , Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand
What’s Good About It?
I kinda like musicals with rock music… PSYCH. I will say it intrigues me that Tom Cruise is in the film. Not his normal kinda film. It must be interesting if he’s involved. Right?
What’s Bad About It?
The music of Journey and Bon Jovi. Man, this film is going to rock so hard. So weakly hard.
Our Clever Prediction
I doubt Rock of Ages will make much money, but it does have some star power, and Hollywood likes musicals, so it’ll get a big push, and if Oscar comes calling, it’ll make a boatload. WHOA!! We’re Halfway there. WHOOOOOOA. LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER. Blah blah blah. Lame.

AMEN! I so agree!! I actually worked as an extra in this movie a few times, and very excited to see it… I was born in 85, and the 80′s music rocks!!!
Um the 80′s was the best musical period Ever and I was born in 92′. Looking forward to this KICK ASS soundtrack. Actors seem weird but interesting. Having Tom Cruise in the film is kinda cool because his career really soared in the 80′s and having him the film will have a really odd but cool nostalgic feel!
On your crappy view of music from the 80′s? Shame on you. Shame on you. All those bands listed above kicked total ass. The 90′s had Brittany Spears and N’Sync. Nuff’ said, stick to movie overviews please.
Knobend, you grew up when everyone wanted to top themselves cause music was “dark, depressing” you were the original emo then? the 80s rocked cause the music was fun and made you wanna enjoy life.the 90s was B.S, nirvana (BANG! thats that chapter over) , pearl jam, soundgarden? sounds like hell to me, was even worse in the uk, we had oasis, take that, blur. so dont slag what you know F**K all about
Def Leppard = Best Rock of Ages ever.
