Playing for Keeps is a Sports Comedy about a washed up soccer player who tries to reconnect with his son and ex-wife while also trying to get a career as a sports broadcaster going.

George Dryer was a great soccer player once upon a time, but he didn’t make enough money and his best days are long gone. In an attempt to reconnect with his son, George agrees to coach his son’s soccer team, which is struggling. This causes George to become the object of many a woman’s desires, as soccer moms come out in droves to talk to him. No doubt he gets his junk wet in a few of them.

But he’s also hoping to reconnect with his ex-wife. He wasn’t the best husband, and he wants her back. Or at least happy.

George is also hoping to get a job as a sports broadcaster. He has the looks and the athletic history, but it’s a tough job to get, and it might take him far away from his family if he gets the job.

What’s Good About It?

The trailer for Playing for Keeps is actually pretty good, with a fair number of sweet/funny moments, and I like Gerard Butler.

Oh, and Jessica Biel’s butt could break me in half like a Kit Kat. And I so badly want to be broken…

What’s Bad About It?

Well… Jessica Biel can’t really act, so that’s a downside, especially as there are a few decent female actresses in Playing for Keeps like Catherine Zeta Jones and Uma Thurman.

Our Clever Prediction

I don’t think Playing for Keeps will make all that much money, but it looks like a pretty good film that’ll make fair money. Guys need to take their girlfriends to something, and Gerard Butler WAS Leonidas. So he’s cool.
