Magic Mike is, seriously, a movie half based on the real life of Channing Tatum, who stars as the titular character. Basically, he teaches a young dancer how to be a stripper.

Yep. Channing Tatum was a stripper, once upon a time. And he’s making a comedy about being the mentor of a young stripper.

I’m gonna go ahead and blame Canada for this one. Just on principle.

Since Steven Soderbergh is apparently not keeping himself busy enough with the forty other movies he has coming out in the near future, he’s also making this shit fest. The screenplay was written by Reid Carolin. This is Reid’s first screenplay, so I have no doubt it’ll be fantastic.

What’s Good About It?

I’ll admit that Soderbergh is at least interesting with his directing choices as of late.
