The Scoop

Life of Pi is based on the best-selling and Man Booker prize winning novel by Yann Martel, is a magical adventure story centering on Pi Patel, the precocious son of a zookeeper.  After spending years living in Pondicherry, India, the family decides to move to Canada by hitching a ride on a huge freighter.  After a shipwreck, Pi is found adrift in the Pacific Ocean on a 26-foot lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.  The story details how Pi tries to survive the trip with all the survivors fighting for their lives.

What’s Good About it?

Did I not mention it’s Canadian??

What’s Bad About It?

Its in 3D.  What about a group of animals stuck on a boat has potential for 3D??

Our Clever Prediction

Its a Canadian book written by an immigrant to Canada about a boy from India, and it is being directed and produced in the United States.  It has greatness written all over it!
