I, Frankenstein is a noir action comedy about the Frankenstein monster working as a private eye in a city filled with other famous monsters.
Essentially, the Frankenstein monster is all that stands between the human world and the world of the monsters. So, like Dylan Dog, but exchange Superman for Frankenstein. There aren’t a ton of details yet revealed, but the story is said to involve the Invisible Man and Dracula. I’m guessing we’ll see Frankenstein with a fedora on. While standing under a streetlight.
I, Frankenstein
I, Frankenstein was created by Kevin Grevioux, who created Underworld, and was the big, steroided up black guy from the first movie. He has an awesome, super deep voice. The story was originally written as a comic book (I think), but has since moved into production for a film. For a time the director was to be Patrick Tatopoulos, who directed the third Underworld film and has worked as a special effects on a number of films, including I Am Legend, Cursed, some Godzilla films, and Van Helsing, which I, Frankenstein essentially sounds like.
But it has just been announced that Stuart Beattie will be directing the film instead, and he will rewrite the script by Grevioux. Beattie has not done much for directing, but he wrote Pirates of the Caribbean, 30 Days of Night, Derailed, Collateral, and GI Joe. So… there was a bit of potential, but then I said GI Joe. It’s kinda like I crapped on your face.

Who’s In It?
No casting news yet, but I’ll go out on a limb and say… Gerard Butler for Frankenstein’s Monster. Why not?
What’s Good About It?
I, Frankenstein REALLY depends on the production designer. This could be terrible, but it could be really cool. I worry about Beattie, since he hasn’t directed anything else, and may not be able to deal with the special effects. No doubt he’ll write a hell of a script, but this could be a terrible film.
Or good.
What’s Bad About It?
I kinda already covered this above. I should have planned that better. Hmm… Underworld was an interesting take on the whole vampire and werewolf thing, so this could be a similar take, but then you need to remember how stupid those movies got over time. Steep fall off a cliff.
Our Clever Prediction
I can’t really say until I see some pics of the film, or a trailer. The tone is going to be everything. This could end up a stupid comedy (no thank you), or it could be an awesome, dark noir movie that ends up a classic.

This really does sound like an adaptation of a Dean Koontz book Frankenstein!!!!
I think they should cast Kevin Durrand (Robin Hood – Little John, X-Men: Wolverine – Fred Dukes) as Frankenstein he has the height, can be funny, has had the experience needed, and could do a fantastic job!
this gotta be the movie of the year
Cant wait to see the trailer^^
