Get the Gringo follows a criminal who is thrown into a Mexican prison and learns to survive with the help of a 9-year-old boy.
Ah, Mexico. Where little kids are in jail.
Wait. What?
Anyways, there aren’t a lot of details available for How I Spent My Summer Vacation online just yet, but it has Mel Gibson playing a total badass, so I’m sure I’ll love it. After all, every man dies. Not every man really lives.
BRAVEHEART!
I mean, FREEDOM!
How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Gibson cowrote the screenplay for How I Spent My Summer Vacation with Adrian Grunberg, who is directing. Grunberg was a first assistant director on a number of films, but he hasn’t been in charge of anything else yet. So no doubt Mel gets his way on set.

What’s Good About It?
I love Mel Gibson. Crazy shit or not, he’s awesome, and his work, especially as a writer and director has been really good. I’m looking forward to How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
What’s Bad About It?
Gibson is producing, and he cowrote the screenplay, so likely Hollywood doesn’t want to touch his work. I doubt he’ll be able to make much of an impact, as there’ll be little to no studio help for How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
Our Clever Prediction
Fingers crossed that this is a big comeback for Mel. I know he’s said some bad stuff, but I think it’s really telling that so many people who know him have stood behind him. I think Mel has gone through a rough patch, but he’s treated people well for years, so he deserves, in my always correct opinion, a second chance.
