House at the End of the Street is a horror film about a mother and daughter who move into a home across the street from a house where brutal murders took place. Dun dun duh.

The son of the family who was murdered still lives in the house, and it seems the boy’s sister is the killer. The sister escaped capture and is said to be living in the woods still.

When Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) and her mother Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) move in, Elissa befriends Ryan, the son who survived. Then they begin to discover more of this dark mystery. BUT WHAT COULD IT BE???

House at the End of the Street

How is House at the End of the Street not a remake? I thought for sure it was, but I can’t find any info that says it is. Huh.

Well, Mark Tonderai is directing from a screenplay by David Loucka and based on a story by Jonathan Mostow. You all probably very clearly remember Tonderai as his role from Four Feathers as “Egyptian Orderly.” It was an unforgettable performance.

Who’s In It?

Jennifer Lawrence … Elissa
Elisabeth Shue … Sarah
Max Thieriot … Ryan
Gil Bellows … Weaver
Nolan Gerard Funk … Tyler Reynolds
Krista Bridges … Mary Jacobson

What’s Good About It?

I’m surprised a film with a premise this bland isn’t a remake. This actually makes me want to see it. Also, Jennifer Lawrence is smoking.

What’s Bad About It?

Bland premise. Stupid.

Our Clever Prediction

Jennifer Lawrence is having a heck of a year. This past weekend The Hunger Games made a gagillion dollars, so she may be able to turn her new fame into some decent business for House at the End of the Street.
