Halloween 3, or Halloween 3D, is the continuing tale of Michael Myers, following the two films made by Rob Zombie. The third film will not be directed by Zombie, but to make up for that it’ll be in 3D.
I should clarify that ‘making up for that’ means that since we won’t have the substandard Rob Zombie making the film the producers are ruining the film by forcing it to be in 3D.
On the plus side, Halloween 3D will be directed by Patrick Lussier. He just made Drive Angry 3D, which was a retarded, but fun film, and he has worked with Wes Craven before, as the editor of Red Eye, Cursed, and the Scream films. To Halloween purists, Lussier should seem as good as having Wes Craven himself direct the film. I still think this’ll suck, but at least it’ll suck with a good pedigree.
Brad Dourif … Sheriff Lee Brackett
Scout Taylor-Compton … Laurie Strode
Horror films don’t really need to be good to make money, they just need to be scary, and having a bit of name recognition doesn’t hurt. No doubt Halloween 3D will be profitable.
I feel like there’ve been a million of these. It can’t be that hard to come up with a new idea for a horror film. Stephen King comes up with a new idea three or four times a year. He’s proven that the idea doesn’t need to be good to be profitable.
It’ll be successful enough for Halloween 4D. The Halloween that travels forward and backward in time so that Michael Myers can kill his victims again and again!
See? New idea. And it’s better than what they’re doing now.
