Foxcatcher is a true life drama about John Du Pont, an insanely wealthy heir who built a wrestling training facility and killed Olympic gold medal winner David Schultz.
I don’t have a lot of other info right now for Foxcatcher, although Steve Carell is playing Du Pont, and Channing Tatum will be Schultz. Ouch. Carell’s big turn in a dramatic role will be hip hop danced to retarded death by the Tatum. Ouch.
Foxcatcher
Foxcatcher has long been in development, with Bennet Miller directing and co-writing the screenplay with Dan Futterman. Heh. Futterman.
No, YOU GROW UP.
Anyways, Miller just directed Brad Pitt in Moneyball, and he previously made Capote, so he’s not half bad. Futterman wrote Capote, so he’s not all bad either.
Foxcatcher Trailer
Probably not for a while yet.
Foxcatcher Release Date
TBA, maybe not til 2013.
Pictures
Nopesy.
Who’s In It?
Steve Carell… John Du Pont
Channing Tatum… David Schultz
What’s Good About It?
Foxcatcher has an interesting storyline, and the filmmakers have proven themselves to have some ability to get good performances. I’m… hopeful.
What’s Bad About It?
Tatum. Channing Tatum. If he was James Bond, his drink would be, “Shit, shaken stirred, and with a hint of corn.”
Our Clever Prediction
Unless the filmmakers come to their senses and ditch Tatum, Foxcatcher is going to bomb.
