Ender’s Game (2013)

Ender’s Game is a big screen adaptation of the legendary Orson Scott Card science fiction novel about a young boy who is called upon to save the world from an alien threat.

I don’t want to give away everything, but the story follows a genius 8 year old prodigy who is drafted by the army to train in a space station, where he learns to be a commander such as the world has never seen before.

Why? Because the earth was attacked about 70 years before by a far-off alien race that almost decimated our race, with us only saved by the brilliance of one leader, Razor Rackman. Ender, the young boy, is hoped to be the next Razor. But will he be?

Dun dun duh…

Ender’s Game

Ender’s Game is being directed by Gavin Hood, who raped Wolverine in his solo film, so this is going to be a terrible movie, even though I really love the books. Hood also wrote the screenplay, which is, of course, based on the novel by Orson Scott Card.

Who’s In It?

Harrison Ford … (rumored) General Graff
  Asa Butterfield … Ender Wiggin
  Hailee Steinfeld … Petra Arkanian

What’s Good About It?

I loved the Ender’s Game books, and I like who they’ve cast so far with Asa Butterfield (from Hugo) and Hailee Steinfeld (from True Grit), and while I don’t love Harrison Ford for General Graff (it should be Michael Ironside), he does add a solid famous actor dude to the film. It’ll be good for the posters.

What’s Bad About It?

Gavin Hood’s involvement. That Wolverine film was the equivalent of being pooed on.

Our Clever Prediction

Maybe Hood will stop sucking just long enough to not blow man cream all over my dreams and make Ender’s Game a quality film. The books rock my balls off, and with quality source material like that, the film has a leg up on a lot of other science fiction films.
