Crawl is a new Australian horror film about a young waitress who is taken hostage in her home. The filmmakers won quite a few awards for the film at horror show award shows.
The film is set in a rural Australian town, and a killer is hired, but a planned double cross goes wrong when the killer takes a girl hostage. The girl in question is waiting for her boyfriend to show up and propose. He doesn’t make it.
THE KILLER DOES.
The girl goes to great lengths to keep herself alive, and as these types of films go she likely becomes half a psycho herself by the end. Just a guess.
Crawl
Crawl’s director Paul China has won a few awards for the film in Australia, and he’s making a few waves. At the very least the press for the film is outstanding, as they’re saying Crawl has elements of the Coen Brothers and Hitchcock going for it. If it does, holy crap.

What’s Good About It?
I’m just excited about the press behind Crawl. It’s won some awards, and is said to be pretty darn good. I’ve also heard it’s getting a somewhat limited release, so it might not be all THAT good a film.
What’s Bad About It?
It’s in Australia. That’s like the Canada of the Southern Hemisphere.
Just kidding. Australia is actually not a shithole.
Our Clever Prediction
I think Crawl is going to serve more as a launching point for potentially the director and star. Georgina Haig is a newcomer, but she’s gorgeous and looks pretty good in the trailer. If the film does decent enough numbers, director Paul China might get a bigger budget with a few stars next time.
