The story is about the formation of the X-Men. How they began and the relationship between a young Xavier and a young Magneto.

Director Bryan Singer elaborated that First Class may supersede the planned Magneto spinoff as his film would “explore that relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust.”

Why you care

Director Brian Singer is on board, he was the brains behind X-Men 2, the best one in the series. X-Men : First class is the reason they canned any chance of a Magneto movie.

Totally up in the air at this point, but since it takes place prior to the first X-Men movie, it’s fair to say none of the original cast will be involved.

The Good

Some are applauding the return of Singer to the franchise.

The Bad

Singer destroyed the last Superman movie, not looking forward to his work on this film. Also, I don’t find Magneto or Xavier that exciting to base a movie around. We have to wonder what X-Men they will focus on, since the cool ones have already been done?

Our Clever Prediction

Somewhat optimistic about X-Men First Class, but Bryan Singer hasn’t exactly proven himself with Superman Returns. How will he handle the new X-Men movie?

X-Men: First Class (2011) has to reinvent the franchise, because Hugh Jackman isn’t in it, neither are any of the characters from the previous X-Men movies. So, the question is… how many cool characters can they unleash to make a movie about the early days of the X-Men?
