The Warriors is a remake of the 1979 cult classic, about a NY Gang who are framed for killing the boss of the city’s top gang during a time of peace, sending them on a dangerous cross-city mission to get back to their home turf alive.
Warriors is a remake of the 1979 film, a movie that still holds up to this day. If for some reason you haven’t checked it out, I suggest you do so immediately. Ok, it has been confirmed by an inside source that the new Warriors movie will take place in NYC, not L.A ! Thank you! The Warriors belong in New York, the L.A version was shot down.
Warriors 2012
A rough and tumble NYC gang called The Warriors are framed for killing Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful gang in New York. Cyrus has been trying to unite all the gangs in the area, so they can rule the city as one unit. When a big meeting for all the gangs is organized by Cyrus, the head of Gramercy Riffs, all hell breaks loose after Cyrus is shot. The Warriors are falsely accused of being the ones responsible, now they must make it back alive to Coney Island before retribution is taken.. back to their own turf.
The film is about their journey back to their own turf, the fights they endure.. and fighting to clear their name.
In the new movie, we are still unsure if they will write in the most memorable characters for the remake. We can only assume The Baseball Furies will most certainly be in this 2012 remake, as they should be. You can check out all the memorable gangs in the film below.

Movie Release Date
Update from the set : Summer 2011 Warriors is now slated for a spring 2012 release, filming delays have pushed it back. We have a spy on set who just told us this
Filming for Warriors begins in nj boardwalk this coming week. By the Emperess hotel.

Personally I think it should be remade in NYC, but we will all have to try it. I doubt it will be as good, if not just go back and watch the original. It would also help the movie if there were more fights and definetly more of cleon.
Leave it alone its a classic its like remaking the Wizard of Oz or Enter the Dragon too many remakes out there or on the way and most or all are flops.
Here are my suggestions: In oder for the 2011 movie to live up to the 1979 cult classic, some things must remain: New York City obviously, The Baseball Furies ( especially the yellow/green member with the black eye warpaint ), the Gramercy Riffs, The Turnbull ACs, The Rogues, Cyrus, Iconic chase scenes, and especially the notorious 9 Warriors Ajax Swan Cleon Cowboy Cochise Vermin Snow Fox and Rembrandt. Only a true Warriors fan would understand the desperate need for these crucial characters/features, and only a true director would take these suggestions into serious thought and consideration before shooting the wrong scene. Can You Dig It?
they should not make this movie in la im from philly and im not nyc fan but the movie needs to be done where the gang culture really comes from for the younger kids to really understand this movie .This aint a remake having it done in lala land they dont have the look of newyork their ghettos are rancher houses.There ghettos have lawns there city takes in their surrounding suburbs to call it a city . I hope they change their minds please dont ruin this movie to try and make a buck if thats what this is about no fan of this movie who grew up to this would want it in la . newyork newyork newyork please listen to the fans we are the ones that care thax
well the Warriors will have to be a mixed gang. I just hope they dont cast rappers in this movie. And I hope the sound track is not 100% rap. Hope it has some great fight sence. None of that matrix,or CGI stuff. and at least one really great car wreckem up car chase. Being in L.A. it will probly have alot of shooting. I really do hope this turns out great. Hell I want to be in it. I’ll be Cyrus.

I agree with ozzy. Leave all hip hop element out of it!
Being in L.A it will be modern gangs Bloods and Crips against Mexican with drive by shootings and such, with A rap soundtrack, nothing like the original in anyway. It will do no justice to the first film what so ever. It’s a shame.

why is it based in LA the only way it works is if its based in NYC like the original DUH people lets read the actual book before we go remaking classics
