Fans of the Norse superhero Thor will get their moment to cheer when the Thor Movie hits theaters in May . The Thor movie is taking some huge chances here by casting a rather unknown commodity in Chris Hemsworth as the lead Nordic Superhero. Since the movie is right around the corner, I’m bumping our Thor preview again since we have been covering Thor for almost two years.
My questions about Hemsworth as Thor, is how will they portray him? Thor was a monster of a man, bulging with muscles and testosterone. Hemsworth goes about 6’3, 180lbs… not the portrayal of Thor I was hoping for. Not that we needed a muscle bound freak here, but how will they bulk him up for this role, or will they pretend Thor was never very big? This movie, the plot etc really confuses me. I just watched the trailer for Thor, and I have one question : Since when is Thor a spoiled brat that Odin has to throw out of Asgard?! He always championed his father and upheld his laws, Loki was the one who always disobeyed. I call BS on this, Thor is going to suck.
Thor – The Plot
Partially disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake discovers his heretofore unknown alter ego, the Norse warrior, Thor.
This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Why you care
While Thor may not be the most exciting comic book character for a movie, we look forward to a big Nordic man swinging a hammer. No homo.

The Good
Movies based on comic books normally excite us, and Stan Lee is behind the script.
The Bad
Chris Hemsworth as Thor? Really? Shouldn’t you have someone like The Rock, Chris Jericho or Tripple H? I mean, why not give the lead role to a big guy, someone who looks like Thor? As I mentioned above, they have made Thor out to be a pain in the ass, something he never ever was in the comics.
Our Clever Prediction
The nerds will flock to Thor, but will it be enough?

Dudley ‘Booger’ Dawson,
Hacksaw Jim Duggan…legend!
A little late to join this debate, but need to clear some things up.
1. Hemsworth is not British, he’s Australian.
2. Since when is 6’3 and 180 “small”!? Getting a bigger, dumbass wwe freak with the acting ability of a 2×4 would be disaster!
3. If you read the pre-comic history of Thor then you realise he wasn’t always the obedient son, and that his arrogance and recklessness caused Odin & Asgard a lot of bother. Many recent one-shot comics have told of these tales. So the plot isn’t that far off the mark.
Why is it that people get so negative about these movies before they’ve even seen them, why not resterve judgment until it’s release. Of all the marvel movies to be released, the only truly shocking one was Wolverine, as they just messed around with his back story far too much.
Holy shit, what? Take that remark about WWE men with 2×4′s back!

With CGI and all the other cool stuff they can do on film, I am sure this film will be great! The reason they cast Chris Hemsworth as Thor; I believe, is because he looks SO much like BRAD PITT! Awwww we all loved it when he played Achilles!! He looks VERY much like that character! He is also a decent actor (he’s not going to win the academy for this) but unlike some of the WWE guys we know to be so big this guy can act; Now the Rock (who has grown alot since his first role in a movie) looks NOTHING like Thor; he has to have the long blonde hair and be somewhat Euro looking or we don’t believe it. The movie LOOKS like it is going to be GREAT; I say don’t take it too seriously and enjoy the fanatsy of the possiblity of a Greek God falling from the sky! The action will be enough to keep the guys pumped and the cute guy will insure you have a date! Can’t Wait
Can not wait for this!!!

This guy is all wrong as Thor. you can see it already. And who said a “young” Thor wasn’t muscular and big? Thor was always a big muscular guy even in the earliest comics. When I saw the pics of the guy playing Thor I laughed my tail off!! Poor casting if you ask me.
