The Vintner’s Luck is a period film about a 19th century winemaker who sets out to make the perfect vintage.
Sobran is a peasant winemaker who dreams of improving his station in life. One day, while drinking heavily and wandering out among the fields, he is visited by an angel, who inspires him to make a great wine.
Is it just me, or do most angelic visits happen when you’re drunk? I know my last visitation was when I was completely hammered. Oh wait. That wasn’t an angel. That was your mom. SNAP. Losers.
Anyways, Sobran comes in contact with a noblewoman, and the two begin an affair, but also make a great vintage. Or at least that’s what I’ve gotten from the trailer.
The Vintner’s Luck
The Vintner’s Luck is directed by Niki Caro, who directed Whale Rider, which also starred Keisha Castle-Hughes, who plays Sobran’s wife in the film. Caro also directed North Country with Charlize Theron, who should be in this. Naked.
The film is based on the novel by Elizabeth Knox.

Our Clever Prediction
The film already came out in parts of Europe, and it hasn’t had monstrous results yet, so that’s not so good. The trailer looks good, but without serious Oscar consideration the film won’t hardly be noticed. Just like me in high school.
