Though the next installment in the Mad Max series won’t include Mel Gibson, it will include one of the original players in the legendary film’s history.

George Miller is back in the Director/Writer chair for the upcoming Mad Max movie, Fury Road. Fury Road will be shot in Sydney and New South Wales next year, with a budget in the region of $100 million.
The plot isn’t official, nor are the stars, just rumors. You already know the plot though, a lack of petroleum and the power to regain control of it. One thing we do know is, Mad Max 4 will be in 3D.
Director George Miller just released this statement about Fury Road
“We are doing 3D on Fury Road– we are shooting with real 3D cameras,” Miller said. “Seven years ago we were going to shoot in 3D but the technology in cinemas wasn’t geared for it then but I always loved 3D.”
Why you care
You probably are as skeptical about another Mad Max film, so are we, but rumor is Charlize Theron is being courted by Miller as the leading female.
Fury Road Release Date
Mad Max 4 hits theaters Summer 2011 Update : Mad Max 4 has been delayed until 2012 now! Fury Road is no longer a 2011 release!
Who’s In It?
Charlize Theron, Sam Worthington, Teresa Palmer!!!! Nicholas Hoult was just announced as joining the cast. (Hoult was fantastic in Kidulthood and is in the upcoming Clash Of The Titans movie).
Teresa Palmer is joining the cast of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Jay Baruchel was just recently quoted as saying :
“She gets to work with him, and she’s (going to be) doing ‘Mad Max 4′ with Miller,” Baruchel said, adding, “She’s the main chick in ‘Fury Road’. She’s going to be there for over a year. It’s really, really cool.”
Riley Keough in Mad Max 4
Also, Riley Keough .. the grandchild of Elvis Presley… she’s in it. How cool is that? Riley is making the big turn from modeling to acting. Even though this is still listed as a ‘rumor’ on a few sites, we have been told that Riley will indeed commit to being in the new Fury Road. Riley and Charlize? Can’t wait. Keough was in The Runaways as well, so this isn’t her first crack at acting. I bet Grandpa would be proud.

What’s Good About It?
The ‘Mad Max’ franchise was one of the best in its day, with wonderful action and a great storyline. Director George Miller is planning to take as long as a year to build the badass vehicles. This means Mad Max 4 just isn’t being thrown together, they are going to knock this thing out of the park.
What’s Bad About It?
Toutlecine is reporting that Mad Max Fury Road will be half CG animation. Are they willing to kill a movie by doing this?
Toutlecine is reporting that George Miller’s film, currently in production, will be 3-D and will blend CG animation with live action. I’m going to be so upset if this is true. Imagine killing a franchise by making Fury Road resemble Sin City? Imagine losing the entire feel of every Mad Max film if this rumor is true?
Uninteresting Factoid
Remember the ‘Ferel Kid’ in the 1981 Mad Max movie? That little shit with the boomerang? That kid is 38 years old now. That’s how old you got since Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) and Fury Road (2012).

I really think a prequel would do the job. The storyline based on the emerging anarchy and the formatin of the MFP. Maybe MAX and Goose as rookies. Just a thought.
