House of Night is the next Twilight, or at least it’s trying to be. First, no, I haven’t read the books, but the film is based on a popular book series based on vampires and a teenaged girl. Okay, so they call them Vampyres. But that’s just stupid.
Anyways, the Vampyres are a genetic anomaly that develops at puberty in a part of the population, and said Vampyres are marked and sent to a special school to learn to be adult Vampyres. Zoey Redbird, who I have to assume is Native American, what with the Redbird thing (like the werewolves in Twilight, not that I’ve seen them or anything), discovers that she is a Vampyre and is sent to the new school and has to learn about her new life as an abomination. Now lets talk about the trailer for House Of Night…
Trailer
Just kidding, not yet.

House of Night
The book has been optioned for a film, but so far there hasn’t been a writer or director announced. I nominate Catherine Hardwicke. In the House Of Night MOvie, newly turned vampyre Zoey Redbird leaves her old world behind and enters a training school known as the House of Night, where she can learn how to become an adult vampyre. Cool right?
Who’s It For?
Young adults and their fascination with the Vampire genre. Although, I guess its better kids are reading something since the general consensus is we are raising a society of idiots and shitheads. Why is the Vampire genre so big now, nobody cared about them in my childhood, in the 80′s. Although we did like Alf and The Fonze, so maybe our generation shouldn’t brag too much.
Movie Release Date
House of night is now a 2013 movie release. They must be searching for a sexy male lead vampire. I nominate Jason Patrick. He was amazing in The Lost Boys, he knows the vampire character, and lets face it, he’s still hot. Right guys and gals? Right? Who’s got my back?

Who’s In It?
Since there hasn’t been any casting, I will also announce that Bob Sagat will play Zoey.
Interesting Fact
If you put Twilight and House of Night in Mortal Kombat as characters House of Night would totally finish Twilight. House of Night’s finisher? Screaming fans so loud that your head explodes.
True Story.
What’s Good About It?
If it’s a success, future sequels may introduce Warewolves, or Mammies (which is what I called your momma last night), and Fronkenstein.
And Zambies.
What’s Bad About It?
Seriously? I’m just going to post the description again. (but with quotation marks!)

Our Clever Prediction
I will show up opening night to score. Uh… score a goal. I’ll be going to a football game. They play for goals, right?
Anyways, I’m not a perv.
I think the film will look like what it is, a cheap Twilight ripoff. Oh, and for those of you have read the books, feel free to hate me.

twilight and the house of night are both really good books but there both really different:)
Have to say I have read both the Casts books (House of night) and Meyers Twilight books…well some of them anyway. The House of Night books blow Twilight away. I would prefer to see The Mortal Instruments made into a movie but EH…will go see this one and judge from there. ALSO someone who shall not be named…needs to remember there WAS a HUMONGOUS vampire craze in the 80′s. Highest grossing movie of all time at the time…This insuquential lil movie was called; Interview with a Vampire. I sat in line for hours and saw it at midnight opening day.
I should correct I was talking about the Anne Rice books of the late 70′s and 80′s. The movie came out in 1994.
I for one have only read books 1-3 and the two chapter preview in the third. But I rather like them and can’t wait for the movie to come out. While reading the HONN books I do own, I’ve come to realise Zoey makes some of the worst decisions but we all do at one time or another. Before I keep on rambling I just wanna say don’t judge until you know the facts or in this case before you’ve read the books. I haven’t read a single twilight book but I don’t judge them or write bad reveiws about stuff I haven’t even read I mean come on just bloody grow up Brian >:(
i think its disrespeactfull of fans to the book your write such a hatefull review when you havent even botherd to even try and read the book! yes its another vampire book but in the book vampires age, go to school, are open in sociaty and has a huge good vs evil battle throughout with different problems, yes it has some love triangles but this isnt the focas of the books its just somthing that happens along the way, this book is so much better than twilight, it has way more to it! please in future do not judge untill you’ve taken the time to actually read it!
im not goin to hate you for posting your opinion about the book but if you were able to read right, you would know that twilight is nothing like house of night. twilight is filled with werewolves and the stereostypes of vampires fighting against each other. house of night is filled with all sorts of magical creatures which zoey encounter. it is about students learning to become vampyres which is DEFINETLY not the stereotype. to prove that i dont hate you, i will tell you something that will benefit you in the future….before you express your stupid/retarded opinions, be sure about the details of the situation.
Have to say even you did not obviously read the Twilight books either or you would KNOW the werewolves in Twilight are only simple shape shifters…NOTHING were about them. This is even mentioned a few times in the books. This bugged me to no end that Meyers did such poor research on her monsters. UGHHHH So she fixed it in the last book…conformist *cough*
