Ghost Rider 2 (2011)

Ghost Rider 2 got the green light recently, to the surprise of many considering the luke warm reception the original film received in Hollywood. There are a few interesting additions, and subtractions to the sequel, the most notable being the refusal to bring back Eva Mendes and director Mark Johnson.
The odd thing about the original Ghost Rider movie, is that even though it is generally recognized as a ‘terrible’ movie, it still churned out enormous revenue. More likely than not, the film was riding the coattails of the summer Superhero movie wave.
Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance
Columbia Pictures is in early discussions with screenwriter David Goyer to work on the story for “Ghost Rider 2,” which would presumably star Nicolas Cage.
The sequel is tentatively called “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”. It will be made for PG-13 rating and could be 3-D by the time it is released.
“Ghost Rider” is adapted from Gary Friedrich and Mike Ploog’s comic books. The first film, which centers on stunt rider Johnny Blaze who becomes a bounty hunter of rogue demons called Ghost Rider at night.

Uh, Ghost Rider?
The Good
David Goyer also wrote Batman Begins, so there is a lot of talent behind the screenplay. This franchise needs a complete overhaul, a recreation, and Goyer is one of the few who can do it.
The Bad
Ghost Rider 2? The first one was so bad, it didn’t deserve a remake. I was never a fan of Ghost Rider, so maybe I’m a bit biased here. Nothing about the man was really fascination to me, as a child. Maybe Nick Cage ruined the film for me, or was it the tacky special effects? I mean, a burning Harley, … a flaming skull .. .the entire premise just did nothing for me.
Our Clever Prediction
Ghost Rider 2 will be tied in with some fast food franchise to trick us into watching it.

I don’t care what anyone says I loved the first movie.
ghost rider did pretty well in box office and dvd sales so it can’t as bad a movie as some you people think it is.
How I wished to see Eva Mendes. Will GR be just like its prequel, I dread to wait for the release of this- mere time waste to say the least.
ghost rider is a kick ass movie
I think they should make longer fight scenes…in the first one they lasted for like 30 seconds..
Many people disliked the first ghost rider, and for good reason. If you didnt follow the comic book when it was out, you couldnt respect it in the same light as the comic reader. Most view the movie as a medeoker childs film that had it’s moments, and if i were to watch it without prior knowledge to it being a comic, id say the same thing (most people didnt even know it was a comic book) Those whom read the comic book as kids (like myself) Anticipated and embraced it despite it not following the storyline verry well, but lets be real, what marvel comics movie has? I remember the first X-men being released and it wasnt well taken by the public, however, they kept getting better as the seaquels keep coming. Whose to say the next ghost rider won’t put it in better prespective. I do hope they do a little better job on this one, maybe add some of the comics origonal villans, id love to see ghost rider battle the scarecrow, or Johnny Blaze pass the curse onto Dan Ketch (the other, newer ghost rider)

I am not saying this guy is wrong because in deed the comics were very in tranceing and hard to put down. but if you remember close to the ending of the movie. melevelence/ the devil is told off by the super fan and actor Nicolas cage. and in his state of defeat and embarasment. he says and I quote “you will regret this disision Jonny Blaze.” and he fades off revealing his true face as a demonic creature. so in my opinion I would guess that this melevelence guy is going to be the villian and that ghost rider hero will have a better control of his power because his mentore and friend has trained him. this trainer is whom I believe to be the ghost rider before Jonny blaze show in the first. but the one thing I personaly think would be kick ass is if some of the movie takes place in hell its self. and in order to get to melevelence in the bowles of hell. the ghost rider must confront an evil that is a more demonic and violent verison of the ghost rider. this monstrosity is called vengece. now I don’t in tend for readers to think for this to happen this is only my opinion.

I agree, but can I also add the biggest problem with the Ghost Rider movie is Nick Cage?

Agree with both of you. I thought the same thing: VENGEANCE!! Nick Cage looks somewhat dull, should stick to his treasure hunting. First GR all that was needed to oust Legion was the stare, like Medusa’s! GR needs a darker theme revamped like the new Batman. There is really no need for GR to handle petty criminals, leave that to Spiderman. The problem is always budget. I read that it was expensive to cgi the blazing skull. Transformation should be more seamless & dramatic, not like the first where there was a cut & next moment shows GR (the first transformation) but the music was great. The film makers could up the budget & really set GR ablaze!
