I’ve handpicked 12 of the most promising movies coming in 2009. The movies all have a certain familiarity to them, as 2009 is most certainly going to be known as “Year of the remake” and “Year of the sequel”.

The Half-Blood Prince
The next installment in the Harry Potter series will deliver, as they always do. 
The Good : Apparently this one deals with the sexual tension between the young students as the grow up. 
The Bad : Ron Weasley still freaks me out to this day. I think its the Red hair.
Transformers : Revenge Of The Fallen
Will be the biggest movie of the summer, no question. Who are the Fallen? The movie promises to be more battle intensive with the introduction of a few new Autobots and Decepticons. The Good : Megan Fox, Things that Transform, Megan Fox and Megan Fox. The Bad : Shia LaBeouf – we wish he died in Indiana Jones, making it impossible for him to be in this one

This summer release will have Star Trek loyalists in tears, as a new cast of characters play the original crew of the USS enterprise. The Good : Captain Kirk, Spock, Scotty .. all back! The Bad : Its a new set of actors playing the legendary crew

The Good : Christian Bale is the lead character ! The Bad : James Cameron didn’t hand over the writing to someone in touch with reality. Remember T3? Us too.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Wolverine breaks apart from the X-Men money machine for his own movie in 2009. The Good : Wolverine joins Deadpool, Sabretooth and Beak for an epic battle that leaves the X-Men franchise in its dust.
The Bad : The movie is missing babe appeal now that Framke Janssen, Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn aren’t around. Wait, maybe this is a good thing.
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
Your favorite American hero, G.I Joe is back. No word on whether or not he uses a Kung Fu grip. The Good : We Love G.I Joe! Sienna Miller! The Bad : Brendan Fraser in tight pants makes us sad.

The Good : Michael Bay is bringing back some legitimacy to this long running franchise, with the promise of more topless chicks getting the business from Jason. Another sequel for the summer movie fans to enjoy. This time around, larry Daley is caught in the Smithsonian Institute, with a new, wild cast of legendary characters throughout history. The Good : The first one was enjoyable! The Bad : Owen Wilson. We thought he died last year. Strange.

The modern twist on a classic tale should be a winner next winter. The Good : Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes The Bad : Rober Downey Jr. may have surpassed his quota. Too much Downey can’t be a good thing. Thats a whole lotta Downey Jr!

It took a certain type of man to scare the living crap out of Nazi’s in WW2. Brad Pitt is that man, he’ll bring this remake to life in Jume 2009. The Good : Diane Kruger is sexy beast, I’d watch anything with her in it. The Bad : We guess we’ll be subjected to a naked Brad Pitt ass scene a few times.
