When an ex-superhero is murdered, a vigilante named Rorschach begins an investigation into the murder, which begins to lead to a much more terrifying conclusion.

The Scoop

In a gritty and alternate 1985 the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown, but after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered an investigation into the killer is initiated. Richard Nixon is still president, and tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are at an all-time high.

The reunited heroes set out to prevent their own destruction, but in doing so discover a deeper and far more diabolical plot. The vigilante Rorschach is investigating the murder of the Comedian and uncovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. Rorschach discovers a far wider-ranging conspiracy involving his colleagues’ past which could completely change the course of history.

If you don’t know who The Watchmen are, you are missing out on one of the best comic books ever. Better than Sin City, Better than Iron Man… better than all your sissy superhero stories.
