One stormy evening in 1938, 70-year-old professor Dominic Matei is stuck by lightning. Without explanation, he rapidly begins to regenerate and rejuvenate until his youth is restored.
As his body sheds years, his mind grows exponentially, until he attracts the attention of Nazi scientists who want to benefit from his vast brainpower. Forced into exile, Dominic reunites with his long lost love. As he delves further into his research on the origins of human language, he inadvertantly puts her in danger. Ultimately he must choose which is more important to him: love or knowledge?
