A stylistically animation based on the groundbreaking revelation that surfing was actually invented by penguins. The film focuses on Cody Maverick, an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters and prepares for his first professional competition. Cody is followed by a camera crew, as they document his experiences and life leading up to his pro surfing event.

We Think : Its tough to compete with money from the kids, at the box office this year. With Shrek The Third, and Spider-Man raking in record amounts of money, it will be interesting to see how Surf’s Up can perform. Our guess? 50 Million at the box office. Hollywood is still running with as many Penguin themed movies as possible, lets see if the kids have had enough. The movie is basically “Cars” but in a Surfing theme with Penguins. Original? Not really. Sony has added a nice cast of cartoon characters the kids may enjoy, such as Tank, Chicken Joe, Reggie, Mikey and Geek.
