Upon hearing his wife was killed in the Iraq war, a father {John Cusack} takes his two daughters on a road trip.
Mom is away fighting for her country. She’s a sergeant in the US Army and she’s in Iraq. When word comes back to Dad that Mom’s been killed, he has to tell their two young daughters.
But it can wait for a while, right? Hours turn to days as Dad, a soft-spoken guy who manages a big box store, takes the girls on a road trip to a theme park. And with each passing mile, Dad’s struggle to break the devastating news becomes more and more difficult. Is there really a good time, the right place, or the proper way to tell these innocent girls that Mom isn’t coming home?
